The Alpha Course
“What Alpha offers, and what is attracting thousands of people, is permission, rare in secular culture, to discuss the big questions – life and death and their meaning" The Guardian
Alpha is a 7 week course of interactive sessions to discuss the Christian faith in an informal environment. We look at topics like ‘Who is Jesus?’, 'How can I have faith?' and ‘How should I pray?’There is the option of a Saturday Alpha Day midway through the course.
Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone. No question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. We don’t assume any background knowledge or belief in Christianity and everyone is welcome.
No pressure, no follow up and no charge.
What is an Alpha evening like?
We start at 7.30 and finish at 9.30. The evening consists of a meal together, a short talk on an aspect of the Christian faith and then an opportunity to discuss what you've heard and any other topics. There is no cost for the meal although donations are welcome.
When does it start?
We usually run one course every year. An Alpha Course always starts with the Alpha Supper. This is a chance to hear a bit more about the Alpha Course before deciding whether you will sign up for the remaining 7 weeks.
