China 2013

In August 2013, a group of adults and young people from STwSS will be going to China to work in an orphanage with International China Concern.  "ICC" is a Christian development organisation that changes lives by bringing love, hope and opportunity to China's abandoned and disabled children. Read more about the STwSS team and their fundraising events below.

So far, the team have raised funds by babysitting, cake sales, a 24-hour football match, hosting a Chinese meal, amongst others. More fundraising events are planned for later in the year, including a garden fair on Saturday, 20 April.

Vision 2012-2017

We launched our five-year Vision for the church, 2012-2017, at the Harvest Festival Service on 30 September. The has been developed through a series of meetings of the PCC and also the wider congregation, including the church family vision morning back in February. The Vision document is available to read now : Vision 2012 - 2017.

Summer Reading

This Summer we are reading Church Actually by Gerard Kelly. This is a book in short easy to read sections (suggested one a day) that looks at God’s brilliant idea, the church, and reflects on some of the pictures the Bible uses.

As we explore the vision God is calling us to be over the next 5 years, this book will by stages excite and challenge us, in the glory of what it means not to go to church but to be church – as Simon often says – the hope of the world.

If you buy it from Amazon via this link: Church Actually, the church receives a small percentage of the cost price.
