God speaks to us as we step out in mission. In August 2013, a group of ten adults and young people from STwSS will be joining an International China Concern ("ICC") team of 38 to work in an orphanage in Hengyang, in Hunan Province where ICC cares for more than 140 children in a family-style settings, partnering with the local government centre for the city. The team will be working closely with the children, experiencing China and having time to hear from God.

Most of the children they will work with will have been abandoned by their parents because of their disability. This in turn leads to psychological effects as well as their physical, intellectual or learning disabilities. ICC’s aim is to end abandonment through love, affirming and building up those affected. The message that they will convey through the variety of activities, is that these children have great value. They aim to spread God’s message by a witness of love and service with the children and carers.

We have several small groups that meet locally during the week (usually fortnightly) for fellowship and prayer. We encourage all members of our church to be involved with a home group. If you are interested in joining one, please contact the church office.
