Children’s and Youth Work
We offer a wide range of groups and activities for children and young people. Please select an age range below to view the groups available:
Children and Communion
Hannah Phillips and Simon Gates will be running a short course to prepare children to take Communion before confirmation.
Meet Hannah
Hi, my name is Hannah Phillips and I am the new Children’s and Youth worker for St Thomas with St Stephen. My job is to co-ordinate all the activities that relate to children and young people.
Youth (ages 11 and up)
Young people are a vibrant and vital part of our church. On Sundays during the morning services different ages meet, with regular Cell group meetings on Thursdays. Hannah Phillips joined our full time staff in 2008 as our Children's and Youth Worker.
Children (aged 3 to 10)
Children are important members of the church family. On Sunday mornings our children meet in their own groups, where we aim to teach them what it means to be a follower of Jesus through activities that are made fun and relevant. We use music, games, stories, crafts and even, on occasion, cooking!
Babies and Young Children
When children are baptised, we say: “We welcome you into the Lord's family.” Children are never too young to come to church. At church we belong to one big family. However, we do realise that bringing children, especially babies and toddlers to church can be hard work… ie, if a baby cries, yours is always the loudest (or so it seems at the time!).
